The objective of the proposed research is to develop a work that marks the first step toward analog design automation, laying the foundation for rapidly building large-scale analog systems. The potential of this work, as the first attempt on analog design automation, will be ultimately showcased by targeting the FPAA with various benchmark analog systems, as well as synthesizing these benchmarks and an FPAA chip as an example of significantly large-scale analog systems. These systems, including the FPAA chip, are constructed using the world's first analog standard cell library as part of this work. In particular, the synthesis of the new FPAA chip will result in a complete reticle and wafer set, which will then be fully characterized and measured once taped out to systematically demonstrate the potential of this analog design automation tool. To enable the creation of highly energy-efficient and area-efficient systems, the necessity for analog design automation becomes crucial.
