An opportunity for Atlanta-area real estate industry leaders and graduate & undergraduate students (from Clark Atlanta, Emory, Kennesaw State, Univ. of Georgia, Georgia State, Morehouse, Morris Brown, Spelman, and Georgia Tech) to gather, network, cultivate professional opportunities, as well as gain insight into some of the most pressing trends influencing the industry and region.  

Presentations:

Charles Pinkham, SVP Development of Portman Holdings, will discuss several current Atlanta projects, with a specific focus on how Portman has adjusted its business model and approach given the significant changes in a post-COVID recovery.  He'll specifically address shifts in the economy, capital markets and user preferences all of which are driving industry-wide changes.

Brian McGowan, President of Centennial Yards - A CIM Group Company, will provide insight into one of the most significant active developments in downtown Atlanta, Centennial Yards.  A 50-acre urban revitalization project in the heart of the city, which is intended to become a thriving community with leading businesses, retail, entertainment and apartments to support the area's diversity, collaboration and inclusion.

Dexter Warrier, Chief Operating Officer of T. Dallas Smith, will discuss ARECA's unique goals and objectives to connect the regions real estate academic talent with industry leaders.  Specifically, how students and companies alike can generate professional opportunities together.

Discovery Expo:

A reception will follow offering students a unique opportunity to engage with industry professionals to learn more about the commercial real estate industry.  Our goal is to create an enthusiastic atmosphere for students to become excited about understanding how to prepare for potential career paths in the industry, discuss the diversity of skills and character qualities needed, as well as gain exposure to potential entry-level career paths in the industry.
