About Cerita Bethea, Ph.D.

Cerita Bethea leads behavioral science at The Coca-Cola Company, relying on models of human behavior and decision-making to drive growth for the company. She translates behavioral insights into quantifiable business solutions, pioneering a place for cognitive psychology in the field of brand marketing.

A Georgia Tech School of Psychology alumna, Bethea is dedicated to bridging the gap between theory and practice — applying principles of behavioral science to marketing, marketing research, innovation, and design.

With a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology, Bethea's career spans three decades across multiple disciplines, from working in the automotive industry with Ford Motor Company and Toyota, as lead Human Factors Engineer; to negotiating the adoption of behavioral frameworks to drive integrated commercial planning at Kimberly-Clark Corporation, to her work today with Coca-Cola.

Bethea is also passionate about mentoring the next generation of behavioral scientists — and empowering organizations to confidently activate and democratize behavioral insights to yield measurable business results.

Bethea earned her Ph.D. at University of Michigan, M.S. at Georgia Tech, and B.S. at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
