The Georgia Intern-Fellowships for Teachers (GIFT) program is a professional development program for Georgia K-12 teachers which provides STEM internships in university research labs, industry, and informal science institutions. GIFT mentors expose teachers to the applications of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in real world inquiry, problem solving, and reasoning. The teacher and sponsors/mentors work together integrating new perspectives, knowledge, and insights gained from the internship into the classroom.
If you are a faculty or staff member who is interested in mentoring/hosting a GIFT teacher on campus, please join us for an informational Lunch & Learn session on Thursday, October 26th from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.. The event will be virtual. Hear from a GIFT Teacher and her campus hosts about the collaborative experience, learn about participant benefits, and ask questions about the program.
