Abstract:
3D printing has come a long way since its early days, growing from a hobbyist technology to a reliable manufacturing process that is an integral part of the global supply chain. In this presentation, we will examine a variety of 3D printing technologies and how they are disrupting established manufacturing methods to create new digitally optimized workflows for even the most custom of applications like dentures and orthotics. Disruption is great, but can it scale? We’ll also take a look at applications being produced in the millions with additive manufacturing as well as some of the challenges to further adoption.
