The objective of the proposed research is to develop a high-fidelity PV plant model to accurately capture the behavior of inverter-based PV system in an electromagnetic transient simulation to explore and understand inverter dynamic response under different grid conditions. we aim to accurately capture the explicitly behavior of the fast inverter controls action and settings (i.e. momentary cessation) in PV systems interaction with the grid. To achieve these goals,  the high-fidelity grid connected PV system is developed in an EMT simulation. The time domain Electro-Magnetic Transients programs (PSCAD/EMTDC) is adopted to build and verify the model. In this work, the merit of the time domain model is performed by simulating the test PV plants and validating the results against the recorded Field data from a utility scale PV plant located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. A rational agreement between the simulation results to the field data is used as a metric of success, the accuracy was quantified using two metrics: Instantaneous error and the Root mean squared error (RMSE). Besides the time domain development of a detailed PV system, the dynamic response of PV system to a transmission disturbance during momentary cessation will be analyzed by obtaining data and information from the NERC reports to recreate the event and better understand the operational response of PV system to grid events .
