Global Media Festival: “One Day We Arrived in Japan” Screening + Virtual Q&A With Directors
Primary tabs
Responding to a labor shortage in the 1990s, the Japanese government opened immigration to second- and third- generation Japanese descendants. This documentary follows three Brazilian-Japanese families as they undergo migration from Brazil to Japan, working through issues of labor, identity, and change in contemporary Japan. Join us for a screening and virtual Q&A with directors Ana Paula Kojima Hirano and Aaron Litvin.
Co-sponsored by the Atlanta Global Studies Center; the School of Modern Languages; the School of Literature, Media, and Communication; the Brook Byers Institute for Sustainable Systems; and Serve-Learn-Sustain.
