Abstract: The objective of the proposed research is to investigate different modeling and control methods for thermal and energy management applications, such as implantable medical devices (IMDs) and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. For applications of IMDs, the main goal is to maximize power consumption while preventing tissue damage due to overheating. HVAC applications focus on saving energy while maintaining the occupants' thermal comfort. The proposed research aims to solve adaptive thermal and energy management problem for these applications using novel modeling and control algorithms.
