Ohamadike and Harper win Best Presentation Awards

Chiagoziem "Zizi" Ohamadike and Emma Harper won Best Presentation Awards at the Fall 2022 School of History and Sociology Undergraduate Research Symposium. They were chosen by ratings from their professors and classmates. 

Ohamadike won for her research on “Humanizing the Girlz in the Hood: Portrayals of Black Women from ‘Boyz in the Hood’ to the 1992 LA Riots,” which she conducted in HTS 4001 Seminar in US History: Representations of Black Women with Associate Professor Sherie Randolph.

Harper was selected for her research on “Racialized Medicine and Direct-to-Consumer Advertising,” conducted in HTS 4086 Seminar in Health, Medicine, and Society with Associate Professor Jennifer Singh.
