I GET IT | WE GET IT To protect our campus community from the flu

Primary tabs

It’s an excellent time to get your flu vaccine. Influenza (flu) viruses typically spread in fall and winter, with activity peaking between December and February. Getting vaccinated now can lower your chances of getting the flu. Every flu season is different, and the substantial health impacts can vary widely from season to season, with some flu seasons being worse than others. Your best defense is vaccination, which provides protection from flu and its potential complications. Stamps Health Services has launched their “I GET IT, WE GET IT” campaign to kick off the launch of their fall flu shot clinics.

“Flu viruses evolve quickly, so last year’s vaccine may not protect you from this year’s viruses,” said Dr. Ben Holton, Senior Director of Stamps Health Services. “New flu vaccines are released every year to keep up with rapidly adapting flu viruses, so it’s important to get the flu shot every year.”

Stamps Health Services’ Fall Flu Shot Clinic is available to students on the following dates:

  • Thursday October 20, 2022, | 3pm - 7pm

  • Wednesday October 26, 2022 | 3pm - 7pm

  • Wednesday November 2, 2022, | 3pm – 7pm

  • Tuesday November 8, 2022 | 3pm – 7pm

  • Wednesday November 30, 2022 | 3pm - 7pm

Faculty and staff can also get their vaccine at Stamps Health Services through the pharmacy.  The pharmacy accepts most prescription insurance plans. Faculty and staff can schedule an appointment by calling the pharmacy at 404-894-1430 ext. 5, Mondays through Wednesdays 8am to 4pm, Thursdays 9am to 4pm and on Fridays 8am to 4pm. Walk-in patients will take longer during lunch hours 11:30am-2pm.
