The energy systems are rapidly evolving especially in terms of the generation and load profile. The changes are mainly driven by the need to move rapidly towards a cleaner environment and sustainable energy resources. This talk will focus on the evolving landscape, the critical role of energy storage systems, and how power systems engineers can help this transition.
The talk is by Prashant Kansal, PE, SMIEEE, Power Systems Team Lead at Tesla Energy. The team led by him is responsible for developing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) power systems models, performing grid interconnection studies, and defining BESS grid interconnection performance requirements.
