In 2020, Margaret E. Kosal, an associate professor in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, published Disruptive and Game Changing Technologies in Modern Warfare: Development, Use, and Proliferation. The book became the second-most popular in the NATO Library in 2021.

In the book, Kosal discusses emerging technologies and the strategic environment they will shape. She then analyzes these security options’ impact on science and technology policy, as well as the future of warfare.
