1. Tell us about what you do in the School of LMC.

As the ADGS I see my position as student support. That could mean anything from advising, recruitment, connecting students with internship opportunities, organizing the GRA/GTA hires, and so on.

2. Who had the greatest influence on your education and/or career path?

My undergraduate advisor. Through his mentorship, I found my perfect fit in the world of stage and production management. He also gave me my first professional theatre opportunity. Years later, I went on to work with him at Kennesaw State and he’s still the first person I go to for any career advice.

3. What do you enjoy most about your work?

Spending time with students. Hands down.

4. Why did you decide to work at Georgia Tech, and what's the best part about working here?

Professor Bill Leahy, who retired a few years ago from the College of Computing, and I worked together at Dad’s Garage Theatre Company. He said my stage management skills would transfer well to a position open in his college and encouraged me to apply. I have jokingly said that the best part of the job is my short commute! While that’s certainly in the top ten, the best part about the job is getting to know the students and being a small part of their journey through their graduate career.

5. What moment in LMC/at Georgia Tech stands out as the most memorable?

When the MS-HCI cohort who were admitted my first fall at Georgia Tech graduated. It was the first group of students I saw from the application process through the entirety of the program, and it was a really special bond.

6. Do you have any advice for LMC students at Georgia Tech?

Take time for yourself and your wellbeing. Nothing is more important than your health.

7. When you're not working, what do you like to do?

Pre-Covid it was spending time in the theatre, usually Dad’s Garage, either working on or watching shows. I also love painting and spending lots of time with my sweet husband Dru and super cute dog Marlo Thomas.

8. If you weren't doing this, what would you be doing?

Working in a theatre.
