The Georgia Tech Writing and Communication program, the University of Florida English department and ImageTexT: Interdisciplinary Comics Studies invite you to a symposium celebrating comics scholars, students and artists.
Highlights include:
- a keynote speech from Tony Harris, artist on Starman, Ex Machina, War Heroes, and Spiderman: With Great Power
- a panel on Atlanta Comic artists featuring Van Jensen, author of Pinocchio The Vampire Slayer, and Andy Runton, author of Owly
- presentations by Georgia Tech students about creating comic books in their English 1102 class
- panels on comics and other media, comics and war
- a roundtable discussion of the comic book and television phenomenon "The Walking Dead"
This free, inaugural event is open to the entire Georgia Tech community and will be a lively day of comic discussion.
