The FAA Weighs the SpaceX Launch Site's Environmental Effects

In 2014, the Federal Aviation Administration assessed and approved SpaceX’s Boca Chica, Texas, site for launches of the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets, but the company has dramatically expanded its plans for the site since then. Residents who live nearby are bringing up the possibility of accidents and environmental damage happening with the new Starship capsule and Super Heavy booster rocket. Mariel Borowitz, associate professor in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs who is also with the Center for Space Technology and Research, is quoted in the story.
