Abstract: In this seminar, Jay Richardson, director, Advanced Concepts for Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. – the manufacturer of products ranging from E-Z-GO golf cars to Arctic Cat snowmobiles to Textron ground support equipment -- will discuss how his small team of dedicated engineers is working to transform the company’s diverse product lines, integrating the latest technologies to create high-performance, electrically powered machines that exceed customers’ expectations, help reduce the carbon footprint of TSV products, and drive toward a more sustainable future.

Bio: Jay Richardson is director, Advanced Concepts for Textron Specialized Vehicles, which designs and manufactures consumer and commercial vehicles to serve a variety of applications and industries. TSV product lines include E-Z-GO golf cars, Arctic Cat snowmobiles, side-by-sides and ATVs, Ransomes and Jacobsen professional turf care equipment, Textron GSE ground support equipment, and Cushman utility vehicles.
    In his role, Jay leads a team of engineers dedicated to the research and development of new technologies and products across the company’s brands and product lines. The team designs, scopes, and prototypes potential new products and improvements to existing models, in response to customer needs and emerging technologies. The Advanced Concepts team also leads the company’s initiatives to electrify its diverse product lines, to respond to growing customer demand for electric products and drive sustainability forward.
    In his TSV career, Jay has worked in multiple leadership roles across engineering in addition to his current role. His past assignments include being the engineering lead for the company’s cost-out initiatives, and work as a mechanical engineer and as a manufacturing engineer responsible for assisting in the design of new products to streamline integration into the company’s integrated supply chain.
  Jay holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Clemson University, with an emphasis on design-for-manufacturing. He also earned a master in business administration from Augusta University.
