Intersect White Paper: Key Findings, Lessons Learned

Primary tabs

Intersect 2018 may be over but the issues discussed and potential lessons learned will have impacts far into the future.

The Strategic Energy Institute and its Energy, Policy, and Innovation Center have published key findings of the Intersect 2018 Conference. With just over 200 attendees, more than twenty panelists and multiple sessions, a lot of ground was covered.  From energy equity to grid resilience, the conversations were thoughtful and, occasionally, intense.

It's important to note, however, that the Intersect findings report is not a document that claims to immediately solve any issues. The report is provided as an impetus for future research, academic, and industry partners to identify energy needs and then move forward to seek solutions together.

So what's in the report? Conference themes, such as digitalization and big data, cybersecurity and consumer privacy, energy equity, and the emergence of "prosumers". These are all significant issues facing many business sectors today. The energy industry is not exempt.

Additional findings addressed include region-specific efforts that incorporate a breadth of perspectives, new business models that will make collaboration essential, and a call for additional leaders to guide the transformation towards a new energy future.
