The Prevention Research Center at Georgia State University will host a brownbag workshop on the Rohingya crisis, the history of Burma, and the dynamics of culture and politics throughout the region. The guest speaker is Dr. Wakar Uddin of Pennsylvania State University.

In this seminar, Dr. Uddin will facilitate an interactive conversation with attendees guided by the following questions:
- Who are the Rohingya?
- Why did they flee their homes?
- What has the international response been?
- What is happening to the Rohingya now?
Dr. Uddin is the founding chairman of The Burmese Rohingya Association of North America and the Director of Arakam Rohingya Union. Through international advocacy work, Dr. Uddin is dedicated to finding a permanent solution to the political, human rights, and humanitarian issues faced by the Rohingya ethnic minority in Burma.
