Title:  Closed Loop Design for Resource aware Perception and Planning in Autonomous Systems

Abstract: The objective of this thesis is to design a closed loop autonomous system that can strike a balance between resource efficiency and end task accuracy. The resource utilization is measured in terms of active sensor usage, sensor bandwidth and computational load of perception algorithms and the end tasks analyzed in this work are object tracking and motion planning. Preliminary research indicates that a closed loop system can be designed to reduce resource consumption in early tasks with minimal effect on end task.
