Seminar Title: Building a Fulfilling Career in Semiconductors

Abstract of Talk: Antonio will offer his advice for building a fulfilling career in the semiconductor industry. He will share his experiences starting with landing his first real job after the co-op program at Georgia Tech, training customers and TIers at US and international events, supporting >$200M of TI business in the field, mentoring new applications engineering hires, up to his current position where he supports automotive and power delivery companies with their hardware designs. Antonio will highlight the different opportunities for engineers in the semiconductor industry, as well as some of his lessons learned with the desire that some of these will benefit students who are embarking on the next step of their career. 

Biographical Sketch of the Speaker: Antonio is currently a field applications engineer supporting automotive and power delivery customer designs in the Eastern US, Canada, and Latin America. Antonio is also currently serving as TI’s Campus manager for Georgia Tech and as a mentor for new TI FAE hires. From 2012 to 2016, Antonio supported start-up companies in Silicon Valley becoming the largest growth TI accounts in the region. Antonio’s career at TI started in 2010 as part of the applications rotation program with a focus on power electronics and battery management, and continued with factory and field applications roles. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2009 with a BSEE and a minor in BME, and completed the co-op program as a jet engine controls engineer with UTC Pratt & Whitney.
