"Resilient Manufacturing: The Georgia Manufacturing Survey 2020"

Abstract: How has the COVID-19 pandemic and downturn affected manufacturing in Georgia and what initiatives can be undertaken to sustain Georgia manufacturing in response to this challenge? This presentation puts forth five insights about resilient manufacturing based on responses to the 2020 Georgia Manufacturing Survey. The Georgia Manufacturing Survey is conducted every two years to benchmark manufacturing performance in the state and identify needs, issues, challenges, capabilities, and opportunities facing Georgia manufacturers. Survey results are design to provide strategic information to improve business and technological assistance to Georgia manufacturing. The administration of the Georgia Manufacturing Survey during the beginning of the pandemic and lockdown from February through May, 2020, providing an unprecedented depth of knowledge about the manufacturing sector in Georgia during this downturn.
