Dr. Xu is a data visionary who deploys enterprise-level analytics solutions to transform organizations and industry practices. She applies her expertise in data science and IT architecture to transportation research centered around emissions, energy, and health at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI). Prior to TTI, she guided the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E) to a data-driven, evidenced-based approach to its operations, decision making, and strategic outreach by leading innovation, navigating ambiguity, and building coalitions. Under her leadership, a team of experienced solutions architects, data engineers, and business analysts established ARPA-E’s data mining and analytics infrastructure. Before ARPA-E, Dr. Xu focused on data management and statistical modeling to transportation network research at Georgia Institute of Technology.
