Minds at Play: Guest Lecture by Dario Nardi
Primary tabs
The Experimental Game Lab and Georgia Tech's "C3: Creativity, Cognition and Computation" series present: Minds at Play - A guest lecture by Dario Nardi.
Abstract: What happens in the brain when we play, when we use our imaginations while interacting with others? When we act, lie, perform a dance, weave a story with someone elese, win a card game, lose a bet, present ourselves on a speed date, or enter a state of creative "flow?"
Dario Nardi reports results from his EEG brain lab at UCLA. Four years of intensive probing of neocortex activity of 50+ subjects has revealed numerous insights across many areas of inquiry, including play. This talk will present some of Dr. Nardi's findings about how the brain operates during play, including: the brain dynamics of winning and losing, the creativity of lying (and roleplay!), the state of flow within the neocortex, and more!
