Global at Home Programs

In an effort to offer Georgia Tech students opportunities to study away rather than study abroad, the Office of International Education has now created Global at Home programs. These programs offer students a new and innovative way of exploring different cultures and learning from different countries without leaving the U.S. These new types of programs are globally focused group/cohort-based, led by Georgia Tech faculty, and may include courses taught in Atlanta, in the domestic United States, and/or virtually. Each Global at Home program will have global learning outcomes for the program, and each class will be designed to support the overall program’s global learning outcomes. This will allow students to complete the courses they need for their specific course of study, gain a global perspective, acquire knowledge of different cultures and languages, and develop practical knowledge for living and working in a global society.

Similar to most faculty-led Study Abroad programs, Global at Home programs will charge in-state tuition to all participating students (regardless of their residence status) plus all campus fees. Global at Home programs will be available to students for the summer of 2021. Interested students should reach out to the Education Abroad Office at education.abroad@oie.gatech.edu or search for Global at Home programs at http://atlas.gatech.edu for more information on dates, courses available, modes of instruction, and more (please note that programs will be made available by mid-November).
