National Hazing Prevention Week

Primary tabs

National Hazing Prevention Week (NHPW) was started by Hazing Prevention Org (HPO), an organization aimed at bringing awareness to hazing within high schools and colleges as well as empowering students and professionals to actively work to prevent hazing. This week provides schools and universities with the opportunity to host programs, workshops, and forums, to help bring awareness to hazing.

At Georgia Tech, Fraternity and Sorority Life annually participates in National Hazing Prevention Week with a weeklong of intentional programming and events. This year, NHPW will be held September 21-25, 2020.

We know that parents and guardians are an important part of helping us end the cycle of hazing. We would like to invite you to participate in our Hazing Prevention Webinar: Understanding Hazing and Student Safety which will take place during National Hazing Prevention Week.

Parent and Family Programs along with Fraternity and Sorority Life would like to invite you to participate in the first installment of Parent and Family Programs Webinars with “Hazing Prevention Webinar: Understanding Hazing and Student Safety,” September 24 at noon EST.

We invite parents and families to participate in a 45-minute webinar where we discuss signs of hazing, ways to report hazing, and how to discuss hazing with your student. We hope that parents and families leave the webinar more informed and confident in address issues of hazing.
