Fraternity and Sorority Recruitment Plans by Council

The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life is excited to announce that our traditional fall semester recruitment period for our 53 fraternities and sororities has been adjusted to accommodate the health and safety of all students. Whether students will be physically on campus or attending virtual courses, they can still plan on participating in a mostly all virtual recruitment process as described below. This council coordinates the recruitment process for the 8 National Panhellenic Conference and 2 Special Interest Sororities. Registration is required and open through August 10 at 12 noon: gtcpc.mycampusdirector2.com

$40 registration fee ​(previously advertised a $80 registration fee before the decision to move virtual, anyone who registered with the previous fee will be refunded the difference).

Recruitment Counselors will begin reaching out to registered potential new members (PNMs) starting the week of July 20 to answer any questions and to start building a relationship.

Monday, August 10th at 3pm: Virtual PNM Orientation

All registered PNMs will attend a virtual PNM Orientation which will include a presentation about the virtual recruitment process and logistics, Q&A, and a meeting with their Recruitment Counselor group. PNMs will also be given a few questions as a prompt to film a short 30-120 second video introducing themselves to the chapters. Recruitment Counselors will be available to coach them through the video making process. Videos will be due on August 11th at 5pm.

Thursday, August 13th: 8:30am-12pm

PNMs will meet virtually with their Recruitment Counselors to view chapter videos and make preferences about which chapters they would most like to speak with the following day.

Friday, August 14th all day

PNMs will attend a maximum of 6 Zoom calls with chapters (35 minutes each). PNMs will receive their individualized schedule for the day with Zoom links in the morning via email. PNMs will receive financial information from all chapters they attend this day. Recruitment Counselors will be available throughout the day to assist with technical difficulties and making preferences for the next round.

 Saturday, August 15th all day

PNMs will attend a maximum of 4 Zoom calls with chapters (40 minutes each). PNMs will receive their individualized schedule for the day with Zoom links in the morning via email. Recruitment Counselors will be available throughout the day to assist with technical difficulties and making preferences for the next round.

Sunday, August 16th all morning

PNMs will attend a maximum of 2 Zoom calls with chapters (55 minutes each). PNMs will receive their individualized schedule for the day with Zoom links in the morning via email. Recruitment Counselors will be available throughout the day to assist with technical difficulties and making final selections.

This Council coordinates the recruitment process for the 30 North-American Conference and other national fraternities. Registration and attendance at one virtual orientation session is required. There is no fee to register. Interfraternity Council leaders will be available via email throughout the entire process for coaching and general guidance. Monday, August 10, 3 pm

IFC Recruitment Orientation Session A: 3pm via Zoom

Students will be asked to choose 12 chapters to have a virtual session taking place during the first 3 days of recruitment. Students will receive their 3 day schedule and zoom links on Wednesday at noon.

Tuesday, August 11, 3 pm

IFC Recruitment Orientation Session B- 3pm via Zoom

Students will be asked to choose 12 chapters to have a virtual session taking place during the first 3 days of recruitment. Students will receive their 3-day schedule and zoom links on Wednesday at noon. 

Wednesday, August 12, 5-11 pm

IFC Recruitment Day 1- Students will attend 4 chapters by appointment via Zoom. The last 2 hours (9-11) will be open to return to any one of those four chapters or others that a student is not scheduled to see (beyond the 12 that were not originally selected).

Thursday, August 13, 5-11 pm

IFC Recruitment Day 2- Students will attend 4 chapters by appointment via Zoom. The last 2 hours (9-11) will be open to return to any one of those four chapters plus any of the 4 from the

Friday, August 14, 5-11 pm

IFC Recruitment Day 3- Students will attend the final 4 chapters by appointment via Zoom. The last 2 hours (9-11) will be open to return to any one of those four chapters and any of the previously visited or non-visited chapters.

Saturday, August 15 and Sunday, August 16; Monday, 6-10 pm

IFC Recruitment Days 4-6: Students will be invited by chapters to return for in-person physically distanced meetings. Students can accept or decline invitations and will need to be sure not to accept times that may conflict with other invitations. There will be a maximum of 15 active fraternity members and 5 interested students at any given time. Students will be required to wear facial coverings. For any student who is not comfortable meeting in person, the chapter will schedule a virtual meeting. If a student receives a bid and wishes to continue to visit other chapters, it is ok to inform the chapter issuing the bid that he wants to visit other chapters before making a final decision. Once accepting a bid, the student will need to complete the Georgia Tech New Member Form within 24 hours. If a student accepts a bid but still has other invitations from other chapters, the student must notify the other chapters that he will not be attending.

This Council coordinates the recruitment process for the 3 multicultural fraternities and 2 multicultural sororities.

Thursday, August 20th at 6:30pm

MGC Virtual Welcome Back Kick-off via Bluejeans. This event will be the kick-off event for each chapter within MGC for their chapter formal recruitment week and there is no fee to attend. The Welcome Back Kick-Off event will allow all incoming students and continuing students the chance to meet the members within the chapters and expand the exposure of MGC. Thursday, August 20th - Friday, September 4th

Following the MGC Virtual Welcome Back Kick-Off, each chapter will host their own formal recruitment the following two weeks. The individual chapter’s formal recruitment weeks will be a virtual or hybrid format organized by the chapter.

National Pan-Hellenic Council

Multicultural Greek Council

This council assists in coordinating the recruiting and intake processes for the 8 historically African-American National Pan-Hellenic Conference fraternities and sororities.

Monday, August ​10th - Friday, August 21st

NPHC will host a series of virtual Welcome Back events including the BSO Student Organization Fair and Meet the Greeks specific dates and times TBD and there is no fee to attend. The Welcome Back series will allow all incoming students and continuing students the chance to meet the members within the chapters and expand the exposure of NPHC. August-October

Over the semester, chapters within the council will host virtual and/or hybrid events to gain exposure and interest from current students. Each chapter will determine at various points throughout the semester if they will host membership intake. This process and if it will be virtual or hybrid is determined by the chapters and the regional director for the organization.
