Paul B. Thompson is the W.K. Kellogg Chair in Agricultural, Food and Community Ethics at Michigan State University, where he serves on faculties in the Departments of Philosophy, Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics, and Community, Agriculture, Recreation and Resource Studies. Thompson is known for his work on developing methods for studying ethical issues in agriculture and his work on emerging technologies such as genetic engineering, nanotechnology and cloning has been especially well received. He has also published numerous papers on sustainability both in agriculture and more generally. His most recent book, The Agrarian Vision: Sustainability and Environmental Ethics, was published by The University Press of Kentucky in late spring of 2010.
