"Fulfilling the Dream" — Coming Together to Fulfill the Dream

Primary tabs

Georgia Tech will commence a weekend of celebration of the Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday with Diversity Program events themed on “Fulfilling the Dream” beginning Thursday, Jan. 13.

Undergraduate students Emma Bones, Shinjini Das, Andrew Estis, Matt LeBrun and Eran Mordel were selected from a group of 20 students who submitted speech abstracts answering the challenge of how King’s dream can be fulfilled on Tech’s campus.

Brothers of King’s fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha, will perform a step show as one of several cultural celebrations of the evening, and at least 30 student organizations will participate in a candle lighting ceremony to commemorate King’s place in history.

The evening will also include other cultural celebrations, the MLK Dancers and a candle lighting ceremony, and will recognize the continued celebration of the Institute's 50th anniversary of the matriculation of the first black students.
