A Letter to Our Community

Primary tabs

Over the past few weeks, the global coronavirus pandemic has affected our way of life – our physical and mental wellness, families, and society. I hope that you’re staying safe and healthy during these unprecedented times.

I’m inspired by our Georgia Tech community, which has united to help those on the frontlines of this crisis. Whether it’s partnering with Coca-Cola to create 50,000 surgical shields for hospitals or donating truckloads of personal protective equipment, we’ve come together to make a difference in these difficult times.

In IPaT, we’re also sharing our insight and expertise to help address the challenges we’re seeing and experiencing in our health care system, economy, at work, and in the now virtual classroom. In the past two weeks, we’ve been part of a large team transforming large conferences to virtual reality experiences, and connecting those coordinating moving hand sanitizer supplies from Atlanta sports stadiums to Atlanta hospitals. Much of our work focuses on the most vulnerable in this crisis: healthcare workers on the frontlines, older adults with early-stage Alzheimer’s isolated at home, and children and families struggling to make distance learning accessible.

Looking forward, we will continue to build new partnerships and initiatives that tackle the myriad of challenges stemming from this once in a century pandemic. While we still have many weeks and months ahead that will test our resolve, I’m confident that we’ll continue to persevere. #WeCanDoThat

Stay safe. Stay well. Stay connected.
