Dinner discussion with Dr. Pinar Keskinocak & Dr. Dawn Strickland

Dr. Pinar Keskinocak & Dr. Dawn Strickland of ISYE will share their career histories and strategies and will engage in conversation over dinner with WST Learning Community residents.

Pinar Keskinocak is the William W. George Chair and Professor in the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering and the co-founder and Director of the Center for Health and Humanitarian Systems at Georgia Institute of Technology. She also serves as the College of Engineering ADVANCE Professor at Georgia Tech.

Her research focuses on applications of operations research and management science with societal impact (particularly health and humanitarian applications), supply chain management, pricing and revenue management, and logistics/transportation. She has worked on projects in several industries including automotive, semiconductor, paper manufacturing, printing, healthcare, hotels, and airlines. Her research has been published in journals such as Operations Research, Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, IIE Transactions, Naval Research Logistics, and Interfaces.

Dawn Strickland is the Director of Student Services and instructor in the Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech.

Dr. Strickland’s primary responsibilities focus on academic advising for our ISyE undergraduate students. She also works with ISyE student organizations, industry representatives, the Mission Possible summer camp, our ISyE GT 1000 seminars, and teaches one class per semester.  Her office is in the Academic Office area on the 2nd floor of Groseclose.

Previously, Strickland served as the assistant dean of Graduate Student Services and Postdoctoral Affairs for the Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science in New York City.
