National Hazing Prevention Week (NHPW) was created by HazingPrevention.Org, an organization aimed at bringing awareness to hazing within high schools and colleges, and empowering students and professionals to actively work to prevent hazing. 

National Hazing Prevention Week is held each year during the last week of September. Schools and universities across the country, including Georgia Tech’s Fraternity and Sorority Life, host programs, workshops, and forums to raise awareness about the issue of hazing. This year, NHPW takes place Sept. 23-27.

We know that parents and guardians play an important part in helping to end the cycle of hazing. Fraternity and Sorority Life wants to make sure that you feel equipped with the tools and resources to help us address hazing.   

Parent and Family Programs, along with Fraternity and Sorority Life, invites you to participate in the first installment of Parent and Family Programs Webinars: Hazing Prevention Webinar, Sept. 27 at 12:15 p.m., via Georgia Tech Parent and Family Programs Facebook Live.

Parents and families will enjoy lunch while participating in a 45-minute webinar that will cover such topics as signs of hazing, ways to report hazing, and how to discuss hazing with your student. We hope that parents and families will leave the webinar more informed and confident in addressing the issues surrounding hazing.
