Summer Employee Well-Being Activator Applications Now Open!

Primary tabs

Are you a Georgia Tech employee interested in bringing health and well-being programming to your department? Health Initiatives (HI) is currently recruiting faculty and staff to become Well-Being Activators for the summer 2019 semester!

Employee well-being activators are ambassadors and champions of well-being within the Georgia Tech community. Activators serve as role models within their respective groups or departments, inspiring others to flourish and thrive. They serve as a well-being conduit relaying information about events and programming to their peers. “Activators are the ‘first to know’ about the latest health and well-being happenings on campus,” said Health Initiatives’ Health Educator Jocelyn Resnick. “Those who are selected will gain a variety of skills related to leadership, well-being, and fostering healthy behavior change that is not only relevant to their everyday lives but transferable into their future professional goals.”

Current activator NaKisha Green from Scheller College of Business said, “I am an activator because I am passionate about people and all aspects of LIFE… This opportunity would not only allow me to do what I’m passionate about but also engage staff with the Health and Well-being community… This position also gives me the opportunity to interact more with the student body and network beyond just my college. I am sharing my ideas and learning a lot from others. I am among other activators who share the same wants, passions, and goals.”

Employee well-being activators spend 3-4 hours each month hosting programs, leading healthy challenges, and integrating well-being into their office. Tierra Clemmons well-being activator in Housing said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed being a Well-Being Activator through the Office of Health Initiatives for my department! Love the Life You Live, Always is my motto; the Well-Being Activator role helps me share with others how to love the life they live by putting their well-being first throughout life’s journeys.”

Applications are currently open and reviewed on a rolling basis. It is highly recommended that every campus department have at least one activator. You can find a full list of current activators as well as the application at healthinitiatives.gatech.edu/wba.
