Office of International Education

Primary tabs

Summer is a great time to start planning ahead for the next academic year. Many Spring 2020 study abroad application deadlines are early in the fall semester. For instance, if your student is interested in studying abroad on an exchange in Spring 2020, they need to apply by September 1, 2019, — which means that there isn’t much time in the fall for a student to get settled at Tech before they need to plan for the spring semester. Students are encouraged to meet or chat with an advisor in the Office of International Education (OIE) this summer to explore the numerous opportunities available for their major. If your student will be looking for funding options, the OIE Scholarship page is: http://oie.gatech.edu/find_scholarships.

Did you know that there are students who study abroad at Georgia Tech (aside from our awesome international students)? Georgia Tech recently had the opportunity to welcome eight students from Tokyo Institute of Technology for a special visiting program on leadership in collaboration with OIE and LEAD. The program focused on assisting students to develop leadership skills, intercultural competency, and insight on the history, social issues, and community empowerment movements in the United States.
