After School Tutors Needed

Primary tabs

The Clarkston Youth Development Initiative is very important to the diverse Dekalb County community it serves, as it provides a safe and educational alternative to children. CYDI provides free afterschool classes to students residing in Dekalb County who are in grades 5th-12th, covering a wide range of subjects.

These classes offer support in the following:

  • English (Speaking, Writing & Comprehension),
  • Conducting STEM projects,
  • 3D Imaging & Printing,
  • Preparation for state testing (GA Milestones, MAP, & WIDA Access
  • Introductory Computer Programming & Coding,
  • Life Skills
  • Social, Mental & Physical Health Activities

In order to offer these much-needed services, it requires a team of willing and qualified individuals. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering their services and time as an Afterschool Tutor please reach out to CYDI.  The afterschool program is Monday-Thursday, 4-6 pm. They would love to see more tutors in the classroom and do not require that volunteers be available for each weekday!
