These are the first massive black holes from the early universe

More than 13 billion years after they formed, distant massive black holes from the early universe are revealing themselves. Their light is now reaching our telescopes. But how did they form so quickly when the universe was young? John Wise of the School of Physics uncovered "a totally new mechanism that sparks the formation of massive black holes". And it has something to do with clouds.
