Edouard Glissant has argued that “the whole world is creolizing and becoming an archipelago,” maintaining that political change and the utopia he envisions are only possible if we change our ways of thinking. Dr. Wiedorn analyzes what Glissant means by “thinking like an archipelago” and highlights the difficulties he encountered in developing his theory.
