The Horizons at Georgia Tech Program is looking forafterschool program tutors and academic mentors. The Horizons Afterschool Program is an after-school program for students that attend Centennial Academy and DrewCharter School. Horizons is looking for Georgia Tech students to work with K- 8 students in an afterschoolsetting Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-6:00 PM. Duties include homework assistance; tutoring in mathand reading; and conducting hands-on science andengineering experiments.

The Horizons High School Academic MentoringProgram is a mentoring program for Horizons High School students. Horizons is looking for Georgia Tech students to work with 9th and 10th graders in an after school and school day setting. Duties include tutoring in math and college readiness assistance. Hours are Mondays from 2:45-4:15 PM and Wednesdays from 9:30-11:00 AM. All tutors and academic mentors must complete an application, interview, and pass a criminal background check. Transportation assistance is available.

ELIGIBILTY:

•Current college/university student in a good academicstanding.

•Must be available to work at least two of the availableprogram sessions.

•Must be willing to actively participate with K-12 students inan academic and mentoring environment.

•Must successfully pass Georgia Tech’s criminal backgroundcheck
