Wasteless Challenge

Primary tabs

Did you know that as an average college student, you could be producing 640 pounds of solid waste each year? Have you ever thought about where this waste ends up and the impact on our Earth? Did you also hear about the extremely fun challenge called Get Wasteless last year? Well, the SGA Sustainability Committee is holding it again!

From April 16–20 (leading up to Earth Day), compete with your friends to reduce the waste you produce! Whatever can't be reused, composted, or recycled will go in a bag provided to you. Last year we had over 300 students participate and really enjoy it. And this year we are opening to faculty and staff as well! To help you with this challenge, the first 500 people to sign-up will be given a zero-waste starter kit with all the eco-friendly essentials. The winning team will receive a $500 donation towards a charity of choice, with points awarded based upon participation throughout the week and will be announced on stage during Earth Day.

Let’s #GetWasteLess! Sign-up by Friday, April 13, via Orgsync.
