Summary Sentence: Exploring Life Origins and the Universe: A Networking Event

Full Summary: The colloquium is aimed at early-career astrobiology researchers at Georgia Tech. Students and postdoctoral researchers are encouraged to give talks and presentations. Plenary sessions are headlined by 2009 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry Ada Yonath, of the Weizmann Institute, in Israel.

This colloquium is a new early-career event for the local astrobiology community. It will consist of talks and presentations by students and postdoctoral researchers working in astrobiology, space science, and engineering in Georgia Tech and greater Atlanta. It will include networking and innovation platform activities to forge connections and explore collaborative ideas among participants.

2009 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry Ada Yonath, of the Weizmann Institute, in Israel, leads a stellar lineup of plenary speakers, including Niles Lehman of Portland State University and Shawn Domagal-Goldman of NASA Goddard Spaceflight Center.


The program will take place in two locations:

  • 8:15 AM-3:55 PM Room 1005, Krone Engineered Biosystems Building, 950 Atlantic Drive, NW, Atlanta. GA 30332
  • 4:45-9:30 PM: Ironmonger Brewing, 2129 Northwest Parkway, Marietta, GA 30067
