Macintosh OS X Security

Primary tabs

Over the past several years, Georgia Tech has seen an increase in the mnumber of Macintosh desktops and laptops in use on campus. While Macs may be seen as more secure than their Windows counterparts, there are still challenges to secure and manage these computers. Due to the popularity of the Mac, we have seen an increase in the threats to the devices ranging from malware attacks to physical theft of machines.

This class is intended for users who are responsible for managing Macintosh desktops/laptops and are interested in learning more about how to take the necessary basic steps to secure these computers. During the session, we will cover Mac OS X and the essential utilities, security tools available to the user, and recommendations to help secure the Mac OS X operating system.
