Become a Language Assistance Volunteer with the Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network

Primary tabs

The Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network (GAIN) is a nonprofit organization that provides free legal services in immigration matters to victims of crime and persecution. GAIN's 6,600+ clients come from 82 countries, speak 40 languages, and represent one of the largest under-served populations in Georgia. GAIN uses a model that combines recruitment, training, and mentorship of volunteer attorneys to ensure that immigrant victims have access to quality legal representation in their immigration matters.

GAIN is committed to ensuring all of its clients have meaningful access to language assistance. GAIN is consistently in need of interpretation and translation services for clients who are asylum seekers and victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual assault.

As a language volunteer, you may be asked to translate documents including birth certificates, affidavits, letters of support or to assist with phone intakes, screenings and in-person attorney/client meetings in its downtown Atlanta office.

Languages Needed: Spanish, French, Persian, Amharic, Arabic, and Hindi
