HSOC Honors and Phi Alpha Theta Induction Ceremony

On Thursday, April 13th, the School of History and Sociology will initiate a new group of students into Phi Alpha Theta, the National History Honors Society, as well as congratulate the winners of this year's Bellon, Bellon Research, and Chair's Awards.

Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Clarissa Threat from Spelman College. Dr. Threat is the author of Nursing Civil Rights: Gender and Race in the Army Nurse Corps (University of Illinois Press, 2015). Her talk is titled, "Intergroup Relations: Nursing and Civil Rights in Mid-20th Century America." After her talk, there will be a banquet dinner to celebrate the award winners.
