Hear from qualified professionals in a wide range of fields share about their experiences in consulting, negotiating job offers, becoming entrepreneurs, applying for a postdoc etc. Feel free to come for individual sessions or stay for the whole day! Make sure to take advantage of this great event hosted by the Graduate Student Government Association, Center for Career Discovery and Development (C2D2) and the Center for Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL).

Poster Session Registration

 

Deadline: December 31st

If you are interested in competing for over $60,000 in travel awards, you can register for the Poster Competition to be held in the afternoon at CRIDC! The poster session offers the opportunity to get experience in conveying your research to judges from industry and Georgia Tech as well as getting feedback for how to best communicate science in both formal and informal settings. Leading up to the poster session, you will have several opportunities to get tips and advice from CETL through workshops in January. Don’t miss the chance to improve you public speaking and possible win $$ with your research poster!

VentureLab Innovation Competition

  In conjunction with the Poster Competition we are also holding an Innovation Competition in partnership with VentureLab. VentureLab is full of people passionate about power of innovation, iteration and evidence-based entrepreneurship and exist to help the next generation of technological innovation move from academic concept to real-world application. Abstracts will be vetted for their innovation potential, and top applicants will also be selected to attend an entrepreneurship workshop in January.  The workshop will help prepare you for a short 5-10 minute pitch of your research at the Innovation Competition on Wednesday February 8th (the night before CRIDC)! Monetary awards will be given out to the top three winners!

IAC Paper Competition

 

Deadline: December 6th

The Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts will be hosting a paper competition and awarding the winners at CRIDC again this year. Graduate students enrolled in IAC graduate courses are eligible to submit abstracts to present papers at the fourth annual IAC Graduate Student Conference, scheduled for Friday, January 27, 2017, 10am-5pm, in Room 102 of the Stephen C. Hall Building (215 Bobby Dodd) OR present posters at the Career Research and Innovation Development Conference (CRIDC) poster sessions in February 9, 2017. If you are presenting a poster, please use the link above for Poster Session Registration. Abstracts are due on December 6th with full papers to be submitted by January 1, 2017. You will send the final papers to Mario Bianchini (mbianchini6@gatech.edu), who will also be the point of contact for any questions about the competition.
