State Department and Rangel Programs Career Coffee Chat

Primary tabs

The Rangel Program is an effort to attract and prepare outstanding young people for careers as diplomats in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State. The program seeks individuals interested in helping to shape a freer, more secure and prosperous world through formulating, representing, and implementing U.S. foreign policy. The Program is open to ALL MAJORS and encourages the application of members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service and those with financial need.

There are two major components to the Rangel Program:

  • Rangel International Affairs Graduate Fellowship Program that provides support for graduate school, professional development, and entry into the U.S. Foreign Service.
  • Rangel Undergraduate International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program that provides undergraduates with the opportunity to enhance their skills, knowledge and understanding about U.S. foreign policy during a six-week summer program at Howard University.

Georgia Tech is hosting a Coffee Chat with current Rangel Fellow Plamen Mavrov, and US Department of State Diplomat-in-Residence Isiah Parnell, on Tuesday, November 15.  You’re invited to come and learn about the Rangel Programs to start your path toward an international career!  Our guests will be there to talk about the programs, benefits, experiences and answer any questions you have.  A brief overview of the programs can be found at: http://www.intaadvising.gatech.edu/career/interested-in-an-international-career-check-out-the-rangel-programs/.
