A&F Communications Survey Summary

Last August, staff in Administration and Finance were asked to participate in an online survey to provide input on how well we are communicating and what we can do to plan even more effective communications in the future. The response rate was fantastic – 43 percent or 733 responses out of 1,693 employees.  

The following summary offers high-level findings from the survey results. We will use this information to further refine communications and engagement opportunities in A&F. Thank you for providing your valuable input.

Approximately 75 percent of respondents feel that it is very or extremely important to stay informed about the strategic direction of the Institute and their respective unit. In addition, approximately 70 percent of respondents feel that is very or extremely important to learn about the accomplishments of their units as well as matters related to business processes, information technology, policies, human resources and employee benefits.

Of those who indicated that the supervise individuals (271), more than 54 percent seek tools to help them be more effective managers.  

Similarly, more than 80 percent of respondents agree that they have a good understanding of the Institute’s strategic plan as well as how their unit and their responsibilities contribute to the overall success of A&F. Respondents agree that they are well informed and have ready access campus information. In addition, nearly 90 percent agree that it is important to have opportunities for two-way communication with A&F leadership.
