American Cancer Society’s (ACS) Great American SmokeOut and The Tobacco-Free College Campus Initiative, 1DayStand

Primary tabs

The Office of Health Promotion will participate in the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) Great American SmokeOut and The Tobacco-Free College Campus Initiative, 1DayStand on November 17, 11am-1pm on Tech Walkway, weather permitting. This event is open to students, faculty and staff.

In the fall of 2014 Georgia Tech became a 100% tobacco and smoke-free campus. The purpose of this University System of Georgia (USG) policy was to create a health-supporting community for everyone, tobacco-users and non-users alike. The new policy also supports the right for all people on university system campuses to breathe smoke-free air. The simple reason for our policy is respect for each other and the environment. Georgia Tech is committed to providing tobacco cessation resources for students, faculty and staff.

Since the launch of this initiative in 2014 1,500 faculty, staff and students have participated in tobacco prevention methods. If you or someone you know is interested in these resources please visit, http://healthpromotion.gatech.edu/tobacco-cessation or stop by our table on November 17.
