Financial Aid Update - October ParentNews

Primary tabs

Did you know the 2017-2018 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) became available on October 1, 2016? The new easier and faster FAFSA form is now available three months earlier than previous years! Additionally, this new early FAFSA allows applicants to use prior-prior year tax information when reporting personal and family income. That means 2015 tax information should be used for the 2017-2018 FAFSA.

The Georgia Tech Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid (OSFA) requires returning students and their families to complete two applications: 1) the FAFSA and 2) the Georgia Tech Application for Scholarships and Financial Aid (GT App). These applications, along with any requested supplemental documentation, must be submitted by the 2017-2018 priority date of January 31, 2017 in order to receive priority consideration for federal aid and institutional scholarships offered through OSFA.

For additional information about the financial aid application process for returning students, please visit the OSFA website at http://finaid.gatech.edu/returning-student. The OSFA is open to walk-in appointments Monday-Friday from 8:00-4:30PM. They are located on the third floor of the Bill Moore Student Success Center and can be reached at finaid@gatech.edu or 404-894-4160.
