School of Architecture Lecture Series: Manuel Cadrecha

Primary tabs

Please join us for the 2016 Atlanta Practices Lecture. Manuel Cadrecha, Perkins+Will Design Director and Principal will present, Architecture and Humanism: Three Projects, Three Places.

For Manuel Cadrecha, architecture and humanism centers man and his values in each design effort. With this approach and explorations of timeless issues (like culture, identity, perception and the search for beauty), three diverse projects will be shared. Each designed through an empathetic, integrated and interdisciplinary creative process that has yielded remarkably different but equally responsive design solutions.

As a Design Director for Perkins+Will, Manuel Cadrecha’s daily work is about crafting a unified design tone and orchestrating teams that elevate the possibilities for each project. Over a 35-year career, Manuel has become an ardent advocate for interdisciplinary design, driving an evolution towards a creative studio model that works across design scales and disciplines.  Born in Havana, Cuba, Manuel Cadrecha grew up in Madrid, Spain, and New York. He received his Masters in Architecture from Georgia Tech.  Manuel serves on Perkins+Will’s Board of Directors and lives in Atlanta.
