Friday Night Mixed-Doubles Tennis round-robin program will provide a social and healthy outlet though tennis.

This faculty/staff tennis program will provide a structured round-robin match system, weekly updates to an internal ranking system, and a platform for timely registration and communication. There is a moderate cost to participate, to be applied for staffing needs and prizes. In the end, participants will enjoy meeting new colleagues and competing in the sport they love.

Game Play – Mixed-Doubles:

Round robin participants should have a minimum ranking of ALTA C4.

  • Fridays beginning at 5:30 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. Warm-ups can start at 5 p.m.
  • Court 1 will start with the highest-ranking foursome, Court 2 the next, and so on.
  • A game is won by the team that wins the point after deuce.
  • Teams play the best 2 of 3 games or 20 minutes (team with leading score wins), whichever occurs first.
  • Losers move over one court to the right, winners move over one court to the left.
  • Switch partners after every rotation. (you cannot play with the same person consecutively).
  • Matches cannot begin after 7:30 p.m.

Round-Robin Season:

  • Season begins September 9th and ends November 4th (8 weeks). No matches October 7th.
  • All games are played at the Byers Tennis Complex.
  • Parking is available on the street or in the McCamish Parking Lot.

Registration/Sign-up:

  • Weekly registration will be handled through mycrc.gatech.edu, starting September 3rd.
  • The cost is $10 per week.
  • Participants will be required to register each week for the upcoming week of play
  • Maximum number per week to register is 16. A waitlist will be provided.
  • Registration opens each Saturday at 12 p.m. for the upcoming week.
  • Deadline for the upcoming week will be each Thursday 10 a.m.
  • Refunds/Credit will be provided to those who cancel prior to Thursday 10 a.m.

Friday Night:

  • Participants must present their GTID when they arrive.
  • Indoor facilities are available for changing and personal needs.
  • Water and snacks will be provided.

Awards:

  • Weekly participants will receive prizes.
  • An overall winner will be presented at the conclusion of the eight weeks. This will be determined by overall matches won.
