Flu Shots and Prescription Services Now Available for Employees at Stamps Health Services
Primary tabs
The Stamps Health Services Pharmacy, located on Ferst Drive next to the Campus Recreation Center, now offers flu shots and retail pharmacy services for employees.
According to Gregory Moore, senior director of Stamps Health Services, “The well-being of our Tech community is central to the Stamps mission. Employees can now use their health insurance to help pay for flu vaccination and pharmaceuticals.” Moore added, “Students have long enjoyed the convenience of on-campus pharmacy services. These benefits are now available to faculty and staff.”
Flu shots are usually covered 100 percent as preventive care under the Affordable Care Act, and getting the flu vaccine is always the best safeguard against getting the flu.
This month, employees may get their flu shot on Oct. 6 and 20 from 9 to 2 p.m. without an appointment.
"Offering these services supports employees in their pursuit of their health and wellness objectives," said John Scuderi, chair of the Employee Health and Wellbeing Committee of the Staff Council.
Stamps pharmacy is also a full retail pharmacy and can fill prescription needs. The pharmacy offers over-the-counter medications and consultations with its staff of registered pharmacists. Employees can get their prescriptions transferred and filled by calling 404-894-1430, or electronically through their physician. Patients can request prescription refills at the pharmacy during business hours, via the automated telephone refill system 24 hours a day (404-894-1430), or through the Stamps Health Services PocketRx smartphone app. Visit health.gatech.edu for more information.
The pharmacy accepts both credit card and BuzzCard only.
